Great Frigatebird

Posted on by

I photographed Great Frigatebirds (Fregata minor) in the Galapagos, subspecies Fregata minor ridgwayi. I only have one photo though that I am sure is a Great Frigatebird and not a Magnificent Frigatebird because it is a juvenile and easier to tell apart. Due to the difference in eye-ring of the female, I am fairly sure I didn’t get any photos of a female Great Frigatebird, but it is harder to be sure with the males.
